Japan: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Exceeds 200,000 Units

Media Create has published the latest video game sales data for the Japanese market for January 14 to January 20, 2019.

This is the second week New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe launched on Nintendo Switch. The game moved 88,840 copies, bumping its total to 255,143. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe was the No. 2 bestselling title last week, only to be overtaken by Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Ace Combat 7 (PS4).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate continues to perform strongly in Japan. It was No. 3 on the charts and sold 49,533 copies. Other Switch titles had a great week as well. Out of the top 12 bestselling games, 9 are on Switch.

Meanwhile, Switch hardware sold 71,139 systems last week, taking 75.0% market share.
