We have some pretty insane news to report on the launch sales for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in Japan.
According to MorganStanley, which has received preliminary Famitsu sales data for the first three days of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the game moved 1.303 million copies in Japan at retail.
This makes Super Smash Bros. Ultimate the most successful and largest Nintendo Switch release in Japan of all time, surpassing Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee’s 552,000 copies, Splatoon 2’s 631,000 units, and Super Mario Odyssey’s 514,000 copies.
MorganStanley believes that the successful launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will eventually help to propel Nintendo’s stock to 46,000 yen.
