Japan: Switch OLED Sold Over 138,000 Units At Launch, Metroid Dread Sold Over 86,000 Units

Famitsu has published their latest sale figures for the week ending October 10th 2021, showing just how well the debut of the Switch OLED model and Metroid Dread went in Japan.

Overall, the Switch moved 179,851 units last week in Japan, with the OLED model accounting for 138,409 units. This made the Switch OLED model the highest selling console for that week in the country.

Similarly, Metroid Dread debuted at the top of the physical sales charts for Japan that week, selling 86,798 units at retail. This is notably around three times as much as the previous Metroid game Samus Returns, which sold around 29,000 units on 3DS when it launched.
