Japanese Police Arrests Man Selling Modified Pokemon GO Plus

Japanese police have arrested a 37 year old man in Chiba prefecture for offering modification services for Pokemon GO Plus.

The suspect says he didn’t know what he did was illegal. According to the report, the seller violated Nintendo’s trademark by offering the Pokemon GO Plus modification service through e-commerce websites. It’s estimated the suspect sold 24,800 yen (USD219) worth of products.

To those who are unaware, Pokemon GO Plus is an accessory that’s supposed to be worn on the wrist of the user. It allows players to catch Pokemon and spin Poke Stops by pressing the accessory’s button without the need of using your smartphone.

By modifying the Pokemon GO Plus, the accessory will allow the user to automatically catch Pokemon and spin Poke Stops, without the need of even pressing a single button.
