Despite having previously voiced plans to retire, actor Jim Carrey has returned as Dr. Robotnik for all three Sonic The Hedgehog films so far, even pulling double duty as Gerald Robotnik in the recently released third installment.
With a fourth film already announced, one wonders whether Carrey will once again reprise his role as Sonic’s arch nemesis. In an interview with Cinema Today, Carrey replied that there is a “possibility” that he will return, provided that the script is interesting, along with mentioning that he enjoyed working with the crew of the other three movies.
“If I get the next idea, I’ll consider it, and if the content is interesting, I’ll come back as Robotnik. I never turn down a role unless I’m not interested. I love this crew, and it’s fun to make a movie with them.”
