In the latest Weekly Famitsu column from Masahiro Sakurai, the director revealed a few tidbits behind Joker, one of the next DLC characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
First, Sakurai revealed Joker isn’t in a playable form yet, but the developers are working hard to produce him. Sakurai says he has “high respect” for Persona 5 and working on Joker gives him “inexhaustible stimulus.”
Sakurai also mentioned that he was contacted by Nintendo as the company wanted to reveal Joker at The Game Awards 2018. As Joker wasn’t produced at that time, they had to create an anime presentation for his reveal. Scheduling an appointment for the voice actors was a very tough task.
