In addition to the new trailer, the official Kirby Twitter account for Japan has shared some interesting new details about Kirby And The Forgotten Land.
According to a series of posts, the game will start off with Kirby being blasted to a strange “New World” where various Waddle Dees are being imprisoned by a group known as the Beast Corps. Kirby will then have to set off on a journey to rescue the Waddle Dees, accompanied by a new friend named “Elfilin”.
After rescuing the Waddle Dees, they will go to a small town which serves as a base for Kirby‘s adventures in the new land. It seems that the town will grow larger the more Waddle Dees are saved, and one of the facilities appears to be a cafe that Kirby can work at. A Wise Waddle Dee in the plaza will also be there to give Kirby tips about the game, as well as trends and high scores of other players in the game if the player has a Switch Online subscription.
Finally, the Tweets also confirm the return of Bandanna Dee as a co-op partner, as well as the official names of the new copy abilities seen in the trailer: “Drill”, which equips Kirby with a drill that can tunnel through the ground, and “Ranger” which equips Kirby with a gun that fires star shaped projectiles.
Kirby And the Forgotten Land launches March 25th 2022 for Switch.
