In a recent interview conducted by Nikkei Trendy, Koei Tecmo Chief Operating Officer and President Hisashi Koinuma commented on the company’s success on Nintendo Switch.
When asked about how he viewed 2018, he said with the addition of “powerful hardware” Nintendo Switch, perhaps it would be a brighter year for the company, as 2017 was a slightly hard fight.
On the topic of sales, Koinuma mentioned he was aware about how Bandai Namco Entertainment’s One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition had been selling on Nintendo Switch, as the game frequently went out of stock and was briefly in shortage.
Koinuma said while the Switch versions of Koei Tecmo’s games have not sold as much as the Switch versions One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition or Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, they have been selling well even after launch as repeat orders have been flowing in non-stop. And that’s a really good thing for the company!
