Koji Igarashi Wants To Make Two More Castlevania “Episodes”
Although currently hard at work on Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night, it seems developer Koji “Iga” Igarashi still has some ideas up his sleeve for the Castlevania franchise he helped make a household name.
Speaking to Gematsu, Igarashi was asked if he would ever want to return to working on Castlevania should he be given the opportunity to do so. In response, the former Konami developer revealed that he actually had plans for two more “episodes” relating to Castlevania, specifically follow-ups to the Aria of Sorrow line of games.
“There are two episodes that we’ve implied but never finished. So I’d like to finish those. In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, we implied that Dracula was destroyed in 1999, but no one has yet to tell that story.”
That said, whether or not this idea could become a reality likely depends on Konami, who currently holds the rights to the Castlevania franchise. Although according to Igarashi, all they would have to do is ask.
Gematsu: “So if Konami gave you the offer, would you make it?”
Igarashi: “Sure.”
