As you can probably tell by now, there have been many developments after a leaked photo of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate final roster appeared on the Internet yesterday. This morning, we have heard of a new development that might prove the leak is fake.
Today, Nintendo of America released a new 2 minute commercial for Nintendo Switch, and around the 1 minute mark the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate title screen briefly appeared.
ResetERA user memoryman3 took a closer look at the bottom of the title screen, which includes copyright information for all the characters that appear in the game. Memoryman3 said there’s currently enough space for all the companies to appear on the title screen in the following order: SEGA, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Monolith Soft, Capcom USA, and Square Enix Co. LTD.
One of the characters shown in the leak, Banjo-Kazooie, is owned by Microsoft, but it seems that the Microsoft Corporation isn’t on the title screen.
This could mean Banjo-Kazooie is a DLC character, the character that will be added in a Day One patch, or perhaps the leak is completely false. It is still too early to tell given that there are many signs pointing to the leak being real.
