Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Ranks #4 For July Book Sales

The Hero of Twilight howled high this July.

Nintendo is showing great numbers in a somewhat unexpected place. The bookstore.

Akira Himekawa‘s The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess  is a graphic novel adaptation of the second best-selling Zelda game in the United States but the game’s popularity clearly doesn’t end there.

Volume 5 of this series ranked at #4 on NPD BookScan’s Top 20 adult graphic novels list for July. Viz media is known for publishing several adaptations of Nintendo franchises such as the Pokemon Adventures series.

The BookScan rankings collect data sales from both online and physical purchases. This includes more than 16,000 locations including Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases.

Though it doesn’t include data for sales at comic book stores, Walmart.com, and some other venues. The rankings cover about 85% of the U.S. trade print book market.
