Level-5: Inazuma Eleven Ares Is ‘Generally Complete’, Now Brushing Up Game Systems Content

Level-5 has published its first Inazuma Eleven Ares developer blog to give an update on the game’s development status.

On this latest update, Akihiro Hino shared that the game is generally complete but the team at Level-5 sometimes brushes up the content and reconsiders taking a second look at the game systems in order to deliver a greater experience overall.

Some people might be wondering if we are making system adjustments all around, but things are generally complete, so please rest assured. In order to make the game more enjoyable for everyone, we sometimes re-consider game systems like this and brush up the content, so please wait a little longer.

Akihiro Hino also tackled one of the issues that the team has encountered during the game’s development. According to Hino, there have been many issues surrounding the game systems. One such issue arises in the In-Match Confrontation Mode.

Full details below:

#1. The Development Blog Begins.

Hello, everyone. Akihiro Hino here.

We will begin posting blogs starting today to give everyone a real sense of what’s going on with the Inazuma Eleven Ares game.

First of all, I would like to apologize to have kept everyone waiting since we announced the development blog on the March 1 episode of Inazuma Walker. From now on, we will provide updates at fixed intervals.

With that out of the way, let’s get started.

The other day, the development staff held a meeting.

We discussed the scenario and game systems in order to make the game more enjoyable.

Truthfully, there have been many issues surrounding the game systems…

Today, I will introduce one.

■ In-Match Confrontation Mode

In the demo you may have played at events, if you don’t use a special move when you confront an opponent during a match, you could “select either left or right,” or something like that.

While this keeps operation simple, we felt it could the game uninteresting.

So now we’re thinking of a new game system to improve upon it.

For example, rather than left or right, we have a system where you decide the course of action on your own and think for yourself by choosing where to go based on the opponent’s status.

As shown in the image below, it is a process of trial-and-error in terms of things like how to visually communicate the opponent’s status to be able to determine which course of action is better or worse.

Here, Dio on the left has a large aura (and a buff icon), while Hades on the right has a smaller aura. Since you can see that Hades is panicked, it would be easier to move to the right rather than the left.

Since there is more than one piece of information to consider when determining a course of action, you may be able to proceed the match more strategically. Whether this new system we’re currently considering will turn out well is something we will work out as we actually play-test the game.

Some people might be wondering if we are making system adjustments all around, but things are generally complete, so please rest assured. In order to make the game more enjoyable for everyone, we sometimes re-consider game systems like this and brush up the content, so please wait a little longer.

Until next time!
