Level-5 To Show-off New Megaton Musashi Trailer At Jump Festa 2019
A Megaton Musashi Trailer is set to be released during the Jump Festa 2019 event this December.
The latest Weekly Jump issue has revealed that Level-5 still has plans to show-off the project with new details at the event. However, it is still unclear as to which format the trailer would be on.
In 2016, a cross-media project in the form of the mecha-series Megaton Musashi has been announced. A multiplayer action-RPG 3DS game has even been teased.
Project Overview: Following Yo-kai Watch and The Snack World, Megaton Musashi was announced as the fifth cross-media project for Level-5. Its concept is ‘the combination of classic robot stories and school mysteries.’ While action battles among robots are featured, there will be a thrilling suspense-drama in the schools the protagonists attend. Unlike previous cross-media titles where the same or similar story is rolled out across different media platforms, Level-5 will try a new method of multiple points of view for each platform. By doing so, one big story will be told through different characters, so audiences can either enjoy each individual narrative on its own or the entire story through all platforms. Bandai has already been chosen as its master toy partner in Japan, and Level-5 is looking to create another strong entertainment ecosystem. Its rollout plan outside of Japan is yet to be determined.
However, it seems the plan for a 3DS game did not push through. On a separate interview, Level-5’s CEO, Akihiro Hino, noted that he wanted the game to be playable on larger screens. If we can take a guess, Level-5 might be considering a Switch release posing a possibility that the trailer will be based off a Switch game.
Jump Festa 2019 will run beginning December 21 until December 23.
We’ll have more news for you until then. Watch out!
