Earlier this year, we reported on the upcoming closure of the limited 3DS/Wii U eShops in regions such as Latin America and Caribbean nations. Well, it turns out that these closures will be stretching wider across the world than we initially heard.
According to Maxsoft, a distributor of Nintendo products in countries such as Singapore, the limited 3DS eShops for Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will also close down on 31 July 2020. In particular, the company posted this message to announce the situation:
As reported previously, these limited 3DS eShops only offer simpler functions such as redeeming download codes for games and updating existing ones. Still, as Maxsoft warns above, it might be a good idea for 3DS owners in these areas to check if they have any downloads or updates they can still obtain – before they lose the chance forever, after 31 July 2020.
