[UPDATE: NintendoSoup Store is now taking orders for the Super Nintendo World Golden Power-Up Band over here, while stocks last.]
As reported previously, visitors to the Super Nintendo World parks in Universal Studios can grab NFC-enabled “Power-Up Bands” that can interact with various elements such as collecting coins from blocks and challenging enemies around the parks. Since the park first opened in Japan, the Power-Up Bands have been available in a variety of designs resembling Mario and friends – and folks will soon have a gleaming new option to choose from as well!
Nintendo has announced a new Golden Power-Up Band that will be sold in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, starting from the park’s second anniversary on 18 March 2023. The Power-Up Band will be available in limited quantities according to the company, and it sports a golden theme with a golden “M” as its logo.
Here are some pictures below (click to enlarge):
Aside from its flashy appearance, this Golden Power-Up Band will have the exact same functions as other Power-Up Bands. Players who use the Golden Power-Up Band at the parks will join “Team Mario” similar to folks with a regular Mario Power-Up Band.
