Not a fan of the raving Rabbids from Rayman’s universe? Well, you’d better watch out – because they’ll eventually hit cinema screens near you!
Lionsgate has signed on for the rights to produce a Rabbids movie with Ubisoft. For now, details about the film itself are relatively sparse, but we do know the following based on early reports:
- Planned as a hybrid live-action movie
- Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman (Beauty and the Beast, Wonder) are producing
- Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin also producing
- There are talks with Todd Strauss-Schulson (Isn’t It Romantic) to direct
- Alex Young from Mandeville will serve as an executive producer
Given that the Rabbids franchise (sans Rayman) has sold around 15 million copies altogether to date, it’s not all that surprising that we finally getting a film with the blabbering creatures. We’ll report back as we hear more in the future.
