Many Kingdom Hearts fans today may be familiar with the story of a cancelled animated series for the franchise – which would have adapted the events of the first game for the silver screen. While the project ultimately never saw the light of day however, a shred of what it could be has finally been unearthed for the public!
Seth Kearsley, an accomplished animator who has worked on various high-profile shows over the years, recently shared that he was indeed in possession of a VHS tape which contained his work on this long-lost Kingdom Hearts animated project from 20 years ago. Thanks to Kearsley’s preservation efforts, that development footage is now available for everyone to view – revealing an 11-minute animatic of Sora fighting the Heartless and more!
