An interesting report has surfaced out of Taiwan about a man who was arrested for selling modified Nintendo Switch systems.
According to a report from TVBS, the man had been modifying Switch consoles to connect to a black market store hosting around 200 free games for the system, and had been selling them for around double the market price of the regular console. Over the past two years, he had sold more than 500 of these hacked consoles, and earned over 10 million dollars in profits.
The case is notable for being the first time someone has been arrested for hacking Switch consoles in Taiwan. More details can be found on Taiwan news outlet EBC News’ coverage on the topic here.
