[Update] Mario Kart Tour Will Shut Down In September 2026
In 2023, Nintendo announced they would be halting development of Mario Kart Tour, with the game running on re-run events for the majority of the time since then.
Unfortunately, it seems that Nintendo has finally decided to pull the plug on the game entirely. As announced on social media, the game will be shut down on September 29th/30th 2026. Players will no longer be able to buy in-game currency or the Gold Pass. Following August 4th, all players will be able to enjoy Gold Pass benefits for free until the end of service.
Service for the Mario Kart Tour game ends on Sept. 29 at 11:00 p.m. PT / Sept. 30 at 8:00 a.m. CEST. Thank you for your support throughout the years. For info on how rubies and the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass will be handled moving forward, see in-game notifications or FAQ below.
