Earlier today we reported that Mario Kart Tour supports online multiplayer for up to 8 players.
It seems that the online multiplayer we’ve all been talking about isn’t what it seems to be. Players who have tried the game have realized they were playing against CPU players that had the same kart and character configurations of the human players that joined the same race, so the race isn’t taking place in real time.
Some speculate that they could be racing against the ghosts of other human players, while others feel everything might just be AI. Another way to prove that the race isn’t taking place in real time is the fact that players could resume from where they left off in the game.
