Nintendo of America has revealed a huge piece of information about Mario Tennis Aces’ upcoming version 2.0 update.
As you may already know, Mario Tennis Aces will support voice chat through the Nintendo Switch Online app for smartphones starting next week. What we didn’t know, however, was that the game will support voice chat with random opponents that aren’t on your friend list.
When you enter an online match, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to join a voice chat with your opponent, so thankfully there’s a way to agree and refuse.
Here’s the full blurb from the patch notes:
The game is now compatible with the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone application. If the application is running on your device when you enter an online match, you will automatically receive a prompt on your smartphone asking if you would like to join a voice chat with your opponent.
This will be applied to all online modes (Online Tournament in Tournament, the new Co-op Challenge, and Online Play in Free Play.
