It looks like folks purchasing Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will be able to enjoy all of the collection’s contents on the cartridge!
Thanks to various retailers, we now have confirmation that the collection’s physical release on Switch will come complete on the cartridge for Nintendo Switch customers. As reported previously, the collection will include 6 elusive fighting games from Marvel and Capcom, along with side-scrolling beat-em-up game The Punisher.
Essentially, this means that folks won’t have to worry about their physical copies of the game becoming useless when Nintendo eventually shuts down the Switch’s eShop infrastructure in the future. Given that Capcom has had some history of selling games that only contain half their advertised contents on the cartridge (while the other half has to be downloaded), this information will probably bring some relief to game preservationists and Marvel/Capcom fans in general.
