Following its announcement in February 2019, developer Marvelous has confirmed that Rune Factory 5 is currently planed to be release no sooner than March 2020.
This news was revealed during Marvelous’ latest financial results briefing, as shared by mochi_wsj on Twitter. During the briefing, Marvelous explained that the game had just barely started development, and that they wished to take their time with it rather than rush it out for release.
“It’s a title we’ve never been able to make on time, but we’d like to be able to release it in the next term,” said a Marvelous representative.
The company’s statements may explain why there have been no new details regarding Rune Factory 5 have been revealed since it was announced in February, as the game simply isn’t in a state where they have anything meaningful to show.
That said, we would much rather they take as much time as they need with the game to give it the polish it needs, and look forward to seeing what Rune Factory 5 will be like closer to its 2020 release window.
