Source Gaming recently translated an interview involving Masahiro Sakurai, Hideki Kamiya, and other developers.
When Sakurai was asked how long he would be making games, he replied he’d consider it if it’s a request from a client. However, Sakurai hopes to be a consultant rather than a director of the project. In this case, Sakurai might be involved as a consultant in the next Super Smash Bros. game for Switch, rather than a director.

I wouldn't mind this. I think that would be better for his health/wrist, and plenty of Nintendo series are focusing more on the newer blood now. Would be a good time for Smash too.
