Yesterday, McDonald’s released the latest lineup of Super Mario toys in mainland China. These toys were released a few months ago in the United States.
There are 8 toys to collect, which you can receive by purchasing a Happy Meal. For the duration of the campaign, all Happy Meal paper boxes are printed with Super Mario characters.
Perhaps what’s more interesting than the toys is the most upvoted comment on the official McDonald’s Super Mario announcement post at Sina Weibo. The comment, which received 171 upvotes, asks McDonald’s whether Princess Bowser is included in the lineup.
Unfortunately McDonald’s did not reply to the comment, just like how Nintendo declined to comment on the situation. This goes to show that Princess Bowser is not only popular in Japan, but in mainland China too.
