Previously, we reported that the Medabots franchise was getting ready to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Additionally, Imagineer representative Hiroyuki Hashida was hinting at a big announcement for the occasion.
Today, Imagineer finally revealed the Medabots series’ newest project – although it might not be what some fans expected.
Apparently, a Medabots mobile game is now in the works, with the key visual above. Imagineer subsidiary SoWhat will be handling development of the game, and Imagineer said it would give more updates down the line.
Next, the company unveiled the “Medabots Game Sound Archives” – which comes as five soundtrack CDs. The discs collect music from the first five Medabots games, and are now up for preorder over here.
Imagineer also re-opened their official Medabots ‘Fan Club’. Japanese-speakers can sign-up over here to receive special exclusive content like smartphone wallpapers and icons.
While it’s unfortunate that Imagineer did not reveal anything for Nintendo’s platforms, at least the company is looking to give the Medabots franchise a much-needed jump-start! We’ll be looking forward to see whatever they’re working on, in the future.
