During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Metroid Dread would be receiving some free updates later this year.
The first free update will launch later today on the Switch eshop, adding an easier “Rookie” difficulty mode and a more challenging “Dread” difficulty mode, the latter of which has Samus die in a single hit. Another free update is scheduled for April 2022, which will add a Boss Rush mode.
