The latest sales figures from Media Create are in, and we now have a look at how Metroid: Samus Returns has sold in Japan.
Metroid: Samus Returns (both the standard and special editions) sold 30,855 copies in Japan during its launch week.
Comparing Metroid: Samus Returns to two other Nintendo 3DS titles which released in July, Ever Oasis and Hey! Pikmin, Metroid: Samus Returns has done better than Ever Oasis, which sold 14,325 copies, but it has done far worse than Hey! Pikmin, which moved 65,867 copies at launch week.
For a first party title, Metroid: Samus Returns certainly hasn’t done very well in Japan. It’s quite understandable though, since the Metroid series isn’t as popular as in the west.
