Minecraft: Better Together Update Will Bring In Restrictions On Super Mario Pack

When the Minecraft: Better Together update hits Nintendo Switch this Fall, restrictions will be imposed on the Super Mario skin and texture pack that is found exclusively on the Switch and Wii U versions of Minecraft.

When the restrictions kick in, the Super Mario texture and skin packs will no longer be usable on all multiplayer modes (Local Play, Nintendo Network, Xbox Live Servers, Realms). It’ll only be usable in Single Player (1P) and Splitscreen (2P-4P).

Given that the Better Together update will allow users from other Minecraft platforms to play together, restricting the Super Mario skin and texture packs from multiplayer mode is the smartest thing to do to avoid licensing issues.

  • I understand online, but offline wireless Multiplayer is just silly, makes the extra price they are asking for the game seem like a harder buy, I hope when the hard copy comes out it is $20 rather then $30.....
