Minecraft, which launched as a physical release for Nintendo Switch last year, continues to perform very well in Japan.
As of the week of January 11, 2019, Media Create estimates the game has sold 607,502 copies at retail in Japan. This makes Minecraft one of the best performing physical releases in Japan in terms of sales.
Back in November, the game had sold over 350,000 copies in Japan, so in the span of three months it moved about 250,000 copies.
Keep in mind we aren’t even taking into account sales of the digital release, which would probably bump up the game’s sales even higher.
