Last month in an interview with Nikkei, Shigeru Miyamoto talked about how he would like to make Super Mario as popular as Disney’s Mickey Mouse.
But it seems that Miyamoto has an even bigger goal in mind as recently, he talked about how Nintendo won’t be able to challenge large companies such as Disney until more parents feel comfortable with their children playing video games.
Check out what he said below:
I’ve become more interested in creating greater opportunities for a larger audience to enjoy. Many parents want to keep their children from playing video games, but these same parents have no problem allowing them to watch Disney movies. We cannot seriously challenge [Disney] unless parents start feeling comfortable about their children playing Nintendo.
