The Super Mario Animated Movie is going to be a thing and Nintendo is working with Illumination Studios to get it done.
In the Q&A session after the father of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, shared some of his views on the collaboration.
Miyamoto said that he had wanted to create a Super Mario Movie for quite some time already by acknowledged that he does not have the expertise to carry it out due to the inherent differences between film and game.
That is why when he got to interact with Illumination Studio’s founder Chris Meledandri while working on the Universal Studio Super Nintendo World project, the two quickly discussed the idea of a Super Mario Movie.
Meledandri and his team have are already deep at work on the movie. While no concrete date has been set for the movie’s release, Nintendo hopes to be able to announce it soon to the public.
