Previously, we reported that both seasons of Minecraft: Story Mode would soon become unavailable for re-download from digital stores like the eShop. With Skybound stepping in to save The Walking Dead games, fans wondered if anyone would likewise rescue the Minecraft spin-off.
Unfortunately, that might be too much of a miracle to ask for. According to USGamer, the Minecraft developers at Mojang were not keen on salvaging the two titles at all – and simply stated:
“The Minecraft team currently has no plans to take over Minecraft: Story Mode from Telltale.”
At this rate, it looks like Minecraft fans should grab the game before it gets de-listed on 25 June 2019. We’ll report back if anything changes in the future.
[Edit: For clarification, only digital versions of the game will be affected. Physical versions of both seasons contain all episodes on the cartridge, so they they will be the only remaining option to experience both stories.]
