Capcom has announced they’ve sold 5 million copies of Monster Hunter World on PS4 and Xbox One worldwide.
The game launched on January 26, 2018 in major regions around the world. At 5 million copies, Monster Hunter World has become the bestselling Monster Hunter title at launch, surpassing titles such as Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Monster Hunter Generations.
Unlike its predecessors, Capcom took on a new formula for Monster Hunter World, making the game easier for beginners and implementing an open world concept. The company doesn’t have any plans to bring Monster Hunter World to Nintendo Switch yet, but if they do so, we expect it to sell many million more copies in the future.
Monster Hunter World is also the first mainline Monster Hunter title to return to PS4 and Xbox One after a long break, as Capcom focused its mainline efforts on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U in the last few years.

But this has nothing to do with Nintendo? Don't know why this is here.
I love the Nintendo Switch but i am "happy" MHW won't be release on it:
The attitude of so many Switch users is unacceptable, begging all the time that ALL games must come on their plateform, constantly bashing editors that refuse to do so, etc... with comments like "you are idiots, Switch is the future of gaming"...
Capcom took the good decision since WiiU was a failure so it was better to go for PS4/Xbox that had more garanties in terms of sales and you don't port/develop games in few months.
Exclusive games is what drives the video game industry to the top. Nintendo users (not all of them obviously), please, don't be agressive when something is not release on your lovely Switch, thats super annoying. Just do what most people do, like me, buy a PS4/Switch and other consoles.
