More Japanese Retailers Have Started To Directly Sell Nintendo Switch 2 Systems To Customers

It appears that an increasing number of Japanese brick-and-mortar locations have started directly selling Nintendo Switch 2 systems to customers on a first-come-first-served basis.

Retailers that have started doing this (from the week of June 16, 2025) include Tsutaya and Yodobashi Camera. As we’ve previously noted, most Japanese retailers had been carrying out pre-order lotteries due to high demand. Direct sales at in-store locations may indicate that edemand is either slowing down, or there may be more stock on the way.

Keep in mind that all Japanese retailers are selling Japanese-Only Systems, which have certain limitations such as the inability to use a non-Japanese Nintendo Account.
