My Nintendo Store Japan has announced they have delayed the pre-order starting date for the Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition in Japan.
The reason is because Nintendo is focusing on shipping the consoles to retailers across Japan first, so pre-orders have been delayed for now.
The delay will also affect the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Joy-Con, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch Dock, and Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition box. Pre-orders will begin on an undetermined date.
My Nintendo Store Japan also mentioned that it’s possible they would have some sets shipping for March 20, though they couldn’t confirm anything at this time.
