My Nintendo Store Japan Launches Lottery For Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition

The official My Nintendo Store website in Japan has launched a lottery to decide who gets to buy the popular Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition.

The lottery format was chosen after Nintendo foresaw that the site would crash from heavy traffic as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition is extremely popular.

Those interested in the lottery can register their interest for free from May 18, 2020 to May 25, 6pm JST. Winners will be contacted between June 1 and June 2, and they must purchase their consoles by June 8. The consoles will be delivered in mid June.
