Sega has revealed some additional details about Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix, their upcoming Hatsune Miku game for the Switch.
Firstly, a new song was confirmed to be featured in the game. It is called “Dreamin Chuchu”, and is a song originally created by Vocaloid label Karent to celebrate Megurine Luka’s 5th Anniversary. The original music video for the song will also be included in the game.
Next, Project DIVA Mega Mix’s Arcade mode was detailed. This standard mode from Hatsune Miku’s past games has been adapted for the Nintendo Switch, using ABXY for button prompts rather than following the Playstation layout. Other than this, the mode plays the same as Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone, using the directional buttons, ABXY, and ZL/ZR.
Finally, a new Switch exclusive mode was revealed. This mode is called Mix Mode and incorporates the use of Joycon motion controls into its gameplay. Players tilt the Joycons and either press or hold ZL/ZR in order to hit notes. Since both the blue and red bars are controlled separately, this mode can be played with two players.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix releases February 13 2020 for Switch in Japan on February 13, 2020, and sometime in 2020 for the West.
