New Nintendo 2DS LL Overtakes Nintendo Switch Sales In Its Debut Week

The New Nintendo 2DS LL has just launched in Japan last week, and looking at the hardware charts, it has done pretty well as a new member of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

According to Media Create, the New Nintendo 2DS LL moved a total of 43,315 units, surpassing Nintendo Switch’s 31,906 units. No surprise, since Nintendo has been having a hard time fulfilling demand for the Switch in Japan, and there’s still plenty of evergreen titles from Mario to Pokemon that kids may want to play on the New 2DS LL, which has a more affordable price.

As for new software, Hey! Pikmin debuted at second place, with 65,867 copies moved. Ever Oasis wasn’t that strong, though – it merely moved 14,325 units. Pretty understandable, since Ever Oasis is after all a new IP.
