The Pokemon Company has announced a new Pokemon Anime series that will debut next year.
The tile of this new series appears to simply be “Pocket Monster”, and follows two new main characters Riko and Roy, along with the Paldean Starter Pokemon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. A Shiny Rayquaza will also play an important role. It is set to begin sometime in April 2023 for Japan.

At the time of this writing, it is not clear whether this is the next installment of the mainline Pokemon anime series following the conclusion of Pokemon Journeys. If it is however, the series’ main character Ash is conspicuously absent. Stay tuned for more details as they come.
