Recently, Nintendo revealed that newer Switch models would feature longer battery life. Along with unique serial numbers, however, another subtle change to these updated models should also make them easier to tell apart from older ones.
Namely, Nintendo’s Japanese and French websites have listed the refreshed Switch models with all-new red packaging. Here’s a quick comparison we whipped up of the new and old Switch packaging side-by-side, for reference.
From the looks of things, we can also expect this new red packaging to be present for the updated models worldwide. We’ll report back with updates when we receive more confirmation.
