It looks like something might be going on behind-the-scenes between Nintendo, Activision, and the Tony Hawk franchise.
Earlier today, the social media accounts of all three brands began to bizarrely chat with each other on Twitter. First, the Tony Hawk Twitter started the conversation by asking for help to get more Tony Hawk games onto “new platforms” just like Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – which is heading to Nintendo Switch soon.
Following that, Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account began to respond in turn – acting supportive of this request for more Tony Hawk ports. Activision’s official Twitter account also appeared to act coy in response to this request.
It’s very rare for Nintendo to talk to other developers like this online, so many fans are now suspicious about these interactions between the companies. Many suspect that Activision and Nintendo are possibly teasing at a Switch port of various Tony Hawk titles, or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 which launched last year.
We’ll just have to wait and see if something more official develops from this, or if it’s just all for laughs. Stay tuned!
