Users and households who already owned the original Nintendo Switch may have been planning to get the Switch Lite as their second console for maximum portability.
However, a specific question came into mind – is there an easy way to transfer data and/or save files between these systems? While a one-way user data transfer between two Switches, game sharing, and cloud save data backup have already been made possible by Nintendo, it would totally be convenient if there’s a way to easily transfer data between the original Switch and the Switch Lite.
Fortunately, Nintendo is already planning on a new system to make this possible.
Talking with CNET, here’s what NoA President Doug Bowser had to say:
“Yes, you will have the ability to transfer between devices, your gameplay experiences. More to come on there, but that is the intention”
No further information has been revealed as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as further details on the matter are made available. For now, we’ll have to take Bowser’s word for it.
