Yesterday, Nintendo revealed that Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is getting a free performance update on Nintendo Switch 2, boosting frame rates and graphics.
At the same time, The Pokemon Company shared two screenshots of the game running on Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
Thanks to image comparisons from PokeNext, we can now tell what has changed in this update. Let’s take a look.
The most obvious difference is the fact that the game can show far more wild Pokemon when it is running on Switch 2. On Switch, the game shows only 1 wild Pokemon, as compared to 10 wild Pokemon in the exact same location on Switch 2.
The game looks better to look at now, too – it looks sharper and less pixelated on Switch 2, especially when looking at something far into the distance.
