A new villager named Audie was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well, leading many to speculate that the villager’s inclusion is a tribute to the grandmother of the same name.
NBC has asked Nintendo whether that was the case, but unfortunately, they shared that they couldn’t make any statements on this matter.
