Nintendo Bombarded With Questions From Users About “Karts Driving Themselves” In Mario Kart World

The official Nintendo support Twitter account for the Japanese market has posted a tweet on June 17, 2025.

The tweet mentions about inquiries the company has been receiving about Mario Kart World. Apparently, many Japanese customers have been confused over how their kart has been “moving by themselves” during races in Mario Kart World.

The company suggested users to check their in-game settings and ensure that Smart Steering, Gyro, and Auto Acceleration are turned off to resolve this issue. It is worth mentioning that Smart Steering is turned on by default when you play the game for the first time (if your kart has a long antenna, it means smart steering is enabled), so it’s advised to turn it off unless you’re a beginner or someone not good at Mario Kart.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
