Nintendo has published an official statement regarding claims they will be making increased profits from selling the newly announced Switch (OLED Model).
The statement was made in reference to a Bloomberg report which stated that the Switch OLED model only cost $10 more per unit to make, suggesting that Nintendo was “improving profit margins”. In Nintendo’s official statement on Twitter, they “make clear” that the claims are “incorrect” and also take the opportunity to state that they “have no plans for launching any other model” apart from the Switch OLED at this time.
At the time of this writing, Nintendo has not made any further statements elaborating the reason why they will not be making increased profits off the OLED Model, although it is unlikely that they would share such information with the general public.
