A few days after the release of a hacking tool that allows Nintendo Switch owners to install pirated games, Nintendo has initiated large scale ban waves on Switch consoles detected with illegally installed software.
This should be no surprise as a prominent voice in the homebrew community warned of the strong countermeasures Nintendo has put in place to combat piracy. Systems banned by Nintendo will encounter error code 2124-4007 when attempting to go online.
Many pirates cried on hacking forum GBAtemp after their systems were banned, so this should come as a stern warning to those thinking of pirating games.
