It appears that Nintendo is planning to rename the Nintendo eShop in the very near future.
In a legal document submitted by Nintendo of America’s legal team to sue a man for selling Nintendo Switch consoles with pirated games installed, the document states the “Nintendo Switch Online Shop” as a place to download games multiple times. In fact, the “Nintendo Switch Online Shop” is referred to as “formerly Nintendo eShop”.
While there is no doubt the document is legitimate, many people are wondering Nintendo’s intentions behind renaming the Nintendo eShop to Nintendo Switch Online Shop. It’d be interesting to hear from them in the coming weeks.
