Nintendo Exhausts Supply Of Wii U Spare Parts In Japan, Repairs No Longer Accepted

Last year, Nintendo announced their intent to stop accepting repair requests for the Wii U console in Japan, due to challenges in securing spare parts for the retired console.

Over on their official Twitter account, Nintendo has now announced that their supply of spare parts for the console in Japan has run out, and they will no longer be accepting repair requests for the console or its peripherals (such as the Game Pad) as of today (3 July 2024).

修理に必要な部品の在庫がなくなりましたので、2024年7月3日をもって、Wii U本体および周辺機器の修理受付を終了いたしました。

“We have run out of parts necessary for repairs, so as of July 3, 2024, we will no longer be accepting repairs for Wii U consoles and peripherals.”

With this, the Wii U has been added to the official list of consoles that are no longer accepted for repairs in Japan.
